چکیده

A signal distorted by a system having a static, invertable, nonlinear characteristics can be exactly restored in the absence of noise. In this case the inverse of the characteristics can be used. When noise is superimposed to the distorted signal, the inverse characteristics may not be proper because the noise is strongly amplified. This noise has to be suppressed in the reconstructed signal, which can be accomplished only at the price of bias. This article presents a method to compensate the effect of static nonlinearities in the presence of noise. This method is based on Tikhonov’s regularization operators and provides a compromise between noisy and biased estimates.

Unbiased Reconstruction of Nonlinear Distortions

When a signal goes through a system having a static, nonlinear transfer function, the output signal will be distorted. In addition to it, the detected output signal is usually contaminated by noise, due to the noisy environment. If we compensate the nonlinearity with its inverse, the expected value of the output signal will be different from it's original one, due to the nonlinearly distorted n...

A Time-Domain Method for Shape Reconstruction of a Target with Known Electrical Properties (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper uses a method for shape reconstruction of a 2-D homogeneous object with arbitrary geometry and known electrical properties. In this method, the object is illuminated by a Gaussian pulse, modulated with sinusoidal carrier plane wave and the time domains’ footprint signal due to object presence is used for the shape reconstruction. A nonlinear feedback loop is used to minimize the diff...

Discrimination of Power Quality Distorted Signals Based on Time-frequency Analysis and Probabilistic Neural Network

Recognition and classification of Power Quality Distorted Signals (PQDSs) in power systems is an essential duty. One of the noteworthy issues in Power Quality Analysis (PQA) is identification of distorted signals using an efficient scheme. This paper recommends a Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA), for extracting features, so-called "hybrid approach", using incorporation of Multi Resolution Analysis...

A Novel Method for Estimation of The Fundamental Parameters of Distorted Single Phase Signals

This paper proposes a new method for parameter estimation of distorted single phase signals, through an improved demodulation-based phase tracking incorporated with a frequency adaptation mechanism. The simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared to the conventional SOGI (Second-Order Generalized Integrator)-based approach, in spite of the dc-offset and harmon...
